Cover, Plainly Stated
Warranty
Every suit is built by hand, and different parts of it carry different cover — because they're built differently and fail differently. Here's exactly what's covered, for how long, and how to make a claim if you need to.
01
Structural Stitching
What counts as structural stitching?
The internal seams that hold your suit together and carry load in a crash — the main body seams, panel joins, and lap seams at the cuffs and ankle zips. This is the stitching your safety actually depends on, so it gets our longest cover.
How long is structural stitching covered?
5 years from the date your suit is delivered. If a structural seam fails under normal use within that period, we'll repair it free of charge, subject to inspection by our team.
What does "subject to inspection" mean?
We need to see the suit to confirm the failure is a stitching defect rather than the result of a crash, misuse, or an unauthorised repair elsewhere. This protects genuine claims and keeps the warranty meaningful — it's the same standard any reputable workshop applies.
02
Surface Stitching
What's the difference between surface and structural stitching?
Surface stitching is the visible topstitching finishing off a seam — it's cosmetic and doesn't carry structural load. It's exposed to abrasion, road grime, and general wear in a way internal seams aren't, so it's treated separately.
How long is surface stitching covered?
6 months from delivery. Beyond that, surface wear is treated as normal use rather than a defect — the same way a wallet or a pair of boots wears at the stitching over time.
03
Zips & Hardware
Are zips and hardware covered?
Yes — 12 months from delivery. We fit YKK zips as standard because they're among the best available, but zips and studs are components made by a third party, not by us, so our cover here matches what we can stand behind in good faith.
What if a zip fails?
Send it in and we'll repair or replace the affected hardware free of charge within the 12-month period, subject to the same inspection process as any other claim.
04
Leather & Materials
Is the leather itself covered?
Material quality — the leather and any cloth components — is covered for 12 months against genuine defects. Leather is a natural material, and normal signs of use will appear once you start riding in it.
What counts as normal wear rather than a defect?
Things like colour rub where the suit contacts the tank or seat, or gradual softening with use, are expected characteristics of leather — not defects, and not covered. A defect is something like a flaw in the hide itself or premature cracking unrelated to how the suit's been used.
Do I need to do anything to maintain the warranty?
Clean your suit with cool, clear water only. Some leather care products contain solvents that can damage stitching, so avoid anything beyond what we recommend at handover. Reasonable care keeps both the suit and your cover in good standing.
05
What’s Not Covered
Is crash damage covered under warranty?
No — warranty covers manufacturing defects, not impact damage. If your suit's been through a crash, that's a repair job, not a warranty claim. See our Crash Repair service for that.
What else falls outside the warranty?
Normal wear and tear, damage from misuse or an accident, unauthorised repairs or alterations carried out elsewhere, and damage from improper cleaning or storage. If you're ever unsure whether something's covered, send us photos before doing anything else — we'll tell you plainly either way.
What about fit issues?
Fit isn't a warranty matter because it's addressed before your suit is ever cut in leather — that's what the FitFirst trial garment stage exists to catch. If you followed the process and something still isn't right at delivery, contact us directly and we'll sort it.
06
Making a Claim
How do I start a warranty claim?
Message us on WhatsApp or email with photos of the issue and your order details. We'll let you know quickly whether it looks like a covered defect and what happens next.
How long does a repair take?
We aim to complete warranty repairs within 28 days of receiving the suit, though busy periods can extend this slightly — we'll always give you a realistic timeline up front rather than an optimistic one.
Do I have to pay for shipping to send my suit in?
Get in touch before sending anything — we'll confirm the claim and give you shipping instructions. This avoids you paying to ship something that turns out not to need a repair, or sending it the wrong way.
